Parallel Flooring Accessories Limited is conscious of the need for businesses as a whole to reduce and minimise any negative impact they have on our world and to help preserve our environment for future generations. To this end the company undertakes to actively encourage and be involved in initiatives which promote the improvement and wellbeing of our planet.
Product Environmental
The company is committed to supporting certifiable products where CoC (Chain of Custody) from forest to consumer can be correctly verified. As a member of the TTF (Timber Trade Federation) it is the intention/objective of the company to be involved in the pursuit of legal, fully managed, and sustainable forest resources’. This is reinforced through our purchasing policy where ever possible. We are a supporter of the TTF Forests Forever Campaign and have adopted the policy for our wood and wood products.
The company holds chain of custody certification with FSC and PEFC. Wherever possible material packing is from re-cycled sources and all packaging from our production is recyclable.
Company Environmental
In recent years the sorting, baling and recycling of plastics and paper/card at our factory has resulted in an 80% reduction in landfill from our site. Further to this, investment in a waste wood burner and heater has negated the need for Oil fired heating as all factory heat is now generated from production waste. All production plant and equipment is purchased with consideration being given to energy and environmental impact.
